    Old Fashion Molasses Cookies

    Susie, friend from Oregon. Her grandma's recipe


    List of Ingredients


    • 3/4 cup margarine, softened
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1/4 cup Brer Rabbit Molasses full flavored
    • 1 egg
    • 2 cups flour
    • 2 tsp baking soda
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
    • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
    • granulated sugar
    • dash of allspice


    Instructions


    1. In a large bowl, with mixer at low speed beat together margarine and 1 cup sugar until creamy.
    2. Add molasses and egg, beating until well blended.
    3. In a medium bowl, blend flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, cloves and ginger.
    4. Add molasses to the mixture, mix well. Cover and chill.
    5. Form dough into 1 inch balls. Roll each in sugar place on a greased or lined cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
    6. Bake at 375 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 1 minute. Remove to wire rack and cool.
