    Taffy: Blue Ribbon Honey Taffy

    Recipe Introduction

    "I took first place in the County Fair, six years runnin� with this secret recipe Honey Taffy. I intended to take this recipe to the grave with me, but Pa said the world would be a sad place without my Taffy, so I spect in the interest of world happiness, I am duty bound to share this recipe."

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup light corn syrup
    1/2 cup honey
    pinch cream of tartar
    2 TBS. butter
    1 tsp. vinegar (the secret)

    Recipe

    Put the sugar, syrup, and honey in yer heavy pot. Heat til the sugar dissappears, then add the cream of tartar (just a pinch, now) and boil, stirrin all the time for about 20 minutes. (Note, if ya keep switchin� stirrin� arms, ya kin firm up them flappy things on the backside of yer arms.) Add the vinegar and butter and let it boil up, then pour into a buttered pan. Cool, pull and cut. Wrap the taffy in wax paper. Ya can add other flavorins to the taffy if ya like, and colorin�s too. Just a touch of each should do.
