Pasta with Bacon, Garlic, Cream & Peas

1 lb. pasta (penne or other)
1 t salt
1 t olive oil
� lb. bacon, diced
2 T minced garlic
� c dry white wine
1 � c heavy cream
� c Romano cheese
1 c frozen peas
2 lrg. tomatoes, diced
Recipe
Cook pasta in boiling water with salt and peas. Drain and toss with olive oil. In large frying pan, saut� bacon until crisp. Remove bacon to paper towel. In bacon grease, add and saut� garlic 2-3 min., then add tomatoes, and cook 1-2 min. Add wine, cook 3-4 minutes more. Add cream and cook 4-5 min. Then add � of cheese and season with salt and pepper. Add pasta and toss with sauce. Then add the rest of cheese and bacon, toss well. Serve with fresh basil as a garnish.
