Warm Bleu Cheese, Bacon and Garlic Dip

Warm Blue Cheese, Bacon and Garlic Dip
7 slices of bacon
2 cloves of minced garlic
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup half and half
4 oz blue cheese, crumbles (1 cup)
2 Tbls chopped fresh chives
Cook bacon in a large skillet over med. high heat until almost crisp, about 7 min. Drain excess fat from skillet. Add garlic and cook until bacon is crisp, about 3 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350. Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add half and half and mix until combines. Stir in bacon mixture, blue cheese and chives. Transfer to a 2 cup ovenproof serving dish and cover with foil. Bake until thoroughly heated, about 30 minutes. Serve with apple slices, toasted pita crisps or french bread (I toast french bread rubbed with garlic).
*May be prepared 1 day in advance. Refrigerate then bring to room temp before baking.
