    1 chicken, cut into pieces
    1 tablespoon oil
    1 onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    1 fresh pineapple, cut in 1-inch chunks, or 1 (20-ounce) can juice-pack pineapple chunks
    1/2 cup dry sherry
    2 tablespoons vinegar
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon cloves
    pepper
    2 tomatoes, chopped

    In a Dutch oven, brown chicken in oil. Remove. Add onions and garlic to the pan and saut� until soft. Return chicken to the pan. Mix in remaining ingredients except tomatoes. Bring to a boil, then simmer, covered, 20 minutes. Add tomatoes. Simmer, uncovered, until chicken is cooked through, about 20 minutes longer.
    Serve with rice.
