    Peach Kugan*

    Source of Recipe

    from my mother's recipe box

    Recipe Introduction

I think my mother got this one from the local newspaper many years ago. I have made slight modifications. And if you don't care for sour cream, don't worry, you can't really tell what it is this way.

    List of Ingredients

    Peach Kugan*

    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. + 2 tbsp. sugar, separated
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
2 28oz. cans sliced peaches, drained
...(original recipe called for 1 can, we like lots of peaches so I use the 2 cans.)
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    8oz. sour cream (1 c.)
    2 egg yolks

Preheat oven to 350. Need an 8x8x2" pan.
Mix the butter, flour, the 2 tbsp. sugar, baking powder and salt into crumbly mixture. Press on the bottom of pan.
Lay the peaches on top. Just squeeze them all on there.
Mix the 1 c. sugar and cinnamon together, set aside 2 tbsp., and sprinkle the rest over the peaches.
    Bake for 15 minutes.
Mix the sour cream, yolks and the 2 tbsp. sugar/cinnamon together.
Pour over top and bake again for 30 minutes.
Let cool a couple of hours to set and then serve; or refrigerate if not going to use the same day.
