    Apple Nut Torte

    1 egg, beaten lightly
    3/4-cup sugar
    1 cup sliced apples
    1-teaspoon baking powder
    1/2-cup flour
    Pinch of salt
    1/4-teaspoon vanilla
    1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

    Combine the beaten egg with the sugar and apples. Stir in the
    remaining ingredients and pour into a 9-inch greased pie tin. Bake at
    350 degrees for 25 minutes. Serve warm or cold, with whipped cream or
    ice cream. Makes 6 servings.
