    Banana Whoopie Pies

    4 1/2 cups flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 cup vegetable shortening
    2 cups granulated white sugar
    2 large eggs
    2 cups mashed extra ripe bananas
    1/2 cup sour milk or buttermilk
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
    Lightly grease and flour baking sheet(s).
    In a large bowl sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and
    baking soda. Set aside.
    Place shortening and sugar in a large mixing bowl: cream together.
    Add and beat thoroughly eggs, bananas, sour milk, and vanilla.
    Add dry ingredients gradually, beating after each addition.
    Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls, 2 1/2 inches apart, on baking sheet.
    Bake 8 - 15 minutes, depending on size or until they spring back to.
    Remove to wire rack to cool.

    for filling::
    1/4 cup softened butter
    1/2 of an 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
    1, 7 ounce jar marshmallow cream

    In medium mixing bowl, beat butter and cream cheese together
    until smooth. Fold in marshmallow creme.
    Put a dollop filling on the flat side of half the cookies.
    Top with remaining cookies, flat sides down.
