    SWEET AND SAVORY GOES GREAT WITH ANY MEAL


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 PACKAGES (1/4OZ EACH) ACTIVE DRY YEAST
    • 1 CUP WARM MILK ( 110 TO 115 DEGREES)
    • 1/3 CUP MARGARINE, SOFTENED
    • 1/2 CUP SUGAR
    • 1 CUP COOKED OR CANNED PUMPKIN
    • 3 EGGS
    • 1 1/2 TEASPOONS SALT
    • 5-1/2 TO 6 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
    • 1 TABLESPOON COLD WATER
    • SESAME SEEDS AND OR POPPY SEEDS OPTIONAL


    Instructions


    1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk add the butter sugar and pumpkin mix.....add 2 eggs salt and 3 cups flour....
    2. beat until completely smooyh. stir in enough remaining flour to form a nice smooth soft dough
    3. Turn on to a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic about 6 minutes.
    4. Place in a greased bowl, turn once cover and let rise in a warm spot until doubled ( about an hour)
    5. Punch dough down turn onto a floured surface divide in half
    6. shape each portion into 12 balls
    7. rools each ball into a rope about 10 inches tie into a knot and continue place on a baking sheet 2 inches apart when all the dough is complete cover and let rise once again in a warm area for about 30 minutes
    8. in a small bowl mix the last egg witht the water (milk) can be used as well and brush the dough generously sprinkle with seeds if desired
    9. Bake at 350 degrees for about 16 minutes until golden brown.
