Almond Cake (Dutch Koek)

1/2 c butter (no substitutions)
1 c sugar
1 egg
1/4 tsp almond flavoring
1/2 c almond paste
1 c flour
Recipe
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and almond flavoring. Mix in almond paste. Beat until light and fluffy, about 5 mins. Stir in flour.
Spread in 9" round cake pan that has been buttered, floured and lined with waxed paper. Garnish with coarse sugar and sliced almonds.
Bake at 325�F for 50 minutes. Cut in wedges.
Serves 12-16.
