    Recipe Introduction

Here is a recipe I used to make a cranberry bread mix in a bag.

    List of Ingredients

    2 tablespoons shortening
    1 cup sugar
    1 egg
    2 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    3/4 teaspoon salt
    3/4 cup orange juice
    1 cup halved raw cranberries
    1/2 cup broken pecans

    Recipe

Cream shortening and sugar, add egg. Sift together dry ingredients and add alternately with orange juice. Stir in cranberries and nuts. Bake in greased bread pan or two tea sized bread pans at 350 degrees for 45
minutes to one hour. Try it sliced, toasted and topped with vanilla ice cream. Recipe can be doubled.

NOW what I did was put all the dry ingredients in a bag. (including the nuts). The I bought some fresh cranberry's and put them in a seperate bag to go along with it. I even grated some orange rind and
let it dry then placed it in the cranberry bag. Then adapt the recipe to read that you add the wet ingredients to the mix. Take a little thinking but it's not that hard. It's not something you can give someone that will let it sit for days before making it. I made it for my next door neighbor and told her she needed to make it within 3
days. She did and LOVED it!
