List of Ingredients
11 pound 97% lean ground beef (or buy the leanest available)
*1 � cups bottled water
*1 pound 98% lean ground turkey breast
*1 (6oz.) can tomato paste
*1/2 teaspoon chili powder
*1 (8oz.) can red kidney beans
*1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
*1 (8oz.) can Mexican-style chili beans
*1 large onion (diced)
*1 (12oz.) can Light Beer (optional)
*4 cloves garlic, chopped & minced (or 4 teaspoons minced garlic in jar)
*3 tablespoons chili powder (or to taste)
*1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced *No-Salt brand seasoning (to taste)
*Tabasco sauce (to taste)
*Black pepper (to taste)
*2 (15oz.) cans low-sodium tomato sauce
*1 (15 � oz.) can fat free chili with beans
*Pam or Non-stick cooking spray
Recipe
Place ground beef and ground turkey in a skillet along with � teaspoon chili powder and cumin. Cook meat until crumbled and browned. Drain meat (if needed) and set aside. Spray empty skillet with cooking spray. Saut� onion, garlic and jalapeno until tender. Place cooked meat and vegetables in a preheated crock pot set on high heat. Add tomato sauce, un-drained chili, water and tomato paste. Simmer for 20 minutes.
Add kidney beans, chili beans, beer (optional), remaining 3 tablespoons chili powder, No-Salt, pepper and Tabasco to the crock pot. Simmer 20 more minutes or for the best results set the crock pot on low and simmer for several hours or overnight [The longer the chili simmers, the better the taste]. If desired, sprinkle a small amount of fat free cheddar cheese and top with a dollop of fat free sour cream.
