    APPLE PUDDING PIE with HOT RUM SAUCE

    1 cup sugar
    1/4 cup soft butter (margarine)
    1 egg
    1 cup flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1 tsp nutmeg
    2 TBS hot water
    1 tsp vanilla
    2 1/2 cups apples, peeled and diced
    1/2 cup chopped nuts

    HOT RUM SAUCE
    1/2 cup butter
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup half & half

    Recipe




    Cream together the butter and sugar; add the egg and
    beat well. Sift together the flour, salt, soda and
    spices. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with
    the hot water. Stir in the vanilla. Fold in apples and nuts.
    Pour into a greased 9" pie pan, and bake at 350� for 40 minutes. Serve with hot rum sauce.

    HOT RUM SAUCE
    Mix together all ingredients and boil for 1 minute.
    Add 2 TBS rum or rum flavoring to taste. Pour hot
    over each dessert just before serving.
