    Easy Microwave Butter Toffee

    List of Ingredients

    1 1/3 c sugar
    1 c butter, softened
    2 Tbsp water
    1 Tbsp dark corn syrup
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    c semi-sweet chocolate chips
    2/3 c walnuts


    Combine sugar, butter, water and corn syrup in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH setting for 4 minutes; stir. Heat an additional 6 to 8 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes, until thickened and golden. Add vanilla; stir well. Pour into a 13 x 9 inch baking pan lined with ungreased aluminum foil. Spread chocolate chips over top; sprinkle with walnuts. Let cool completely; break into pieces. Makes about one pound.
