    Cream Wafers

    Recipe Introduction


    These are perfect tea cookies. Delicate and not overly sweet...pretty too!


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 c. butter
    • 1/3 c. whipping cream
    • 2 c. flour
    • granulated sugar
    • Filling:
    • 1/4 c. soft butter
    • 3/4 c. powdered sugar
    • 1 t. vanilla
    • food coloring (opt.)


    Instructions


    1. Mix butter,cream and flour well. Chill 1 hr. Roll 1/8" thick and cut into one and a half inch rounds.

    2. Transfer to waxed paper sprinkled with sugar and turn to coat both sides.

    3. Place on ungreased sheets and prick each 4 times with a fork. Bake at 375 degrees for 7-9 min. or until slightly puffed. Cool.

    4. Mix filling, color if desired and use to sandwich two cookies.



    Final Comments


    Makes 5 doz.
