- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons garlic
- 3 tablespoons creole seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- oil for frying
- 1 cup hot pepper sauce
- 1 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- Creole Seasoning: (you can buy creole already made)
- 2 1/2 tablespoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- Blue Cheese Dressing or Ranch Dressing for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Line baking sheet with parchment paper or nonstick aluminum foil.
Preheat deep fryer to 350 degrees.
- If using whole chicken wings you can cut up and disguard wing tips but you can just fold tip under and cook whole.
- In large bowl mix flour, garlic powder, creole seasoning, salt and black pepper.
- Sprinkle creole seasoning on raw chicken.
- Dredge chicken in flower mixture and set aside.
The flower will turn pasty and will not fall off when it hits the hot oil as if it was dry flour.
- Deep fry wings until crispy and golden brown. About 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oil and pat dry.
- Mix hot sauce, honey and brown sugar in large bowl.
- Toss to coat wings in sauce mixture.
- Place on backing sheet and cook about 12 minutes until the coating is dry.
