    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 3 cups all purpose flour
    • 4 eggs
    • 1-1/4 cup milk
    • 2 tsp baking powder
    • 2 tsp vanilla
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • Creamy Chocolate Frosting
    • 3-3/4 cups powdered sugar
    • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
    • 3 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
    • 1-1/2 tsp vanilla
    • 3 tablespoons milk - approx


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 3 round pans 8 x 8 or 9 x 9.
    2. Beat all ingredients except creamy chocolate frosting in large bowl on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly.

    3. Pour into pans. If necessary refrigerate remaining batter while others are baking.
    4. Bake each 8 inch pan 33 - 36 minutes. 9 inch pans 30 - 33 minutes or until no indentation is left when touched lightly. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pans and cool completely.
    5. Prepare Creamy chocolate frosting. Fill layers with 1/3 cup frosting. Frost sides and top with remaining frosting.
    6. Choolate Frosting
    7. Beat all ingredients together on low speed. Stir in additional milk, 1/2 tsp at a time, until smoothe and of spreading consistency.
