    Creole Hot Chocolate

    List of Ingredients

    3 (1 oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1 cup water
    4 1/2 cups milk
    Sweetened whipped cream
    Ground cinnamon

    Recipe

    Combine chocolate, sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon, nutmeg and water in a deep 3-quart casserole or bowl. Microwave at HIGH for 5-6 minutes, stirring twice or until chocolate melts. Gradually stir in milk. Cover with heavy duty plastic wrap and microwave at HIGH for 8 to 9 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Beat hot chocolate with a rotary beater until foamy. Ladle into mugs; top with whipped cream, and sprinkle with cinnamon.

    Yield: 5 1/2 cups
