Barbecue Buns

List of Ingredients
1 TB vegetable oil
1 lb. ground beef
1 cup finely chopped yellow onion
1 cup finely chopped celery
1 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup prepared barbecue sauce
1 pkg. (16 oz.) hot roll mix
1 large egg, beaten
Recipe
1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat until hot. Add ground
beef
and onion; cook until browned, about 3 minutes. Drain off fat. Add
celery and
bell pepper; cook and stir until vegetables are soft, about 3 minutes.
Add
cheddar and barbecue sauce; mix well. Cool for 10-15 minutes.
2. Prepare hot roll mix according to package directions. Let dough rest
for
about 5 minutes. Divide dough into 12 balls. Roll each ball into a
6-inch round
with a rolling pin.
3. Spoon about 1/4 cup beef mixture onto center of each dough round.
Fold
edges of dough toward center; pinch to seal. Place seam-side down on an
ungreased
baking sheet.
4. Cover; let rise in a warm place until almost double in size, about
20
minutes.
5. Preheat oven to 350� F. Brush tops of buns with beaten egg. Bake
buns
until golden, about 20 minutes. Remove from baking sheet; cool 5
minutes on a wire
rack. Serve warm.
Yield: 1 dozen.
