    3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
    1 1/3 cups light brown sugar
    1 3/4 teaspoons cinnamon
    1 cup pecans, chopped
    2 medium Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced thin
    2 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1 1/4 teaspoons salt
    3/4 cup water

    Preheat oven to 375. Coat 9x9 baking pan with cooking spray. Place 3 tablespoons of butter in the bottom of the pan; swirl to coat the bottom. Sprinkle with 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Arrange apple slices in pan.

    Stir together flour, baking soda, salt and remaining cinnamon until combined. In a separate bowl, beat together remaining butter and brown sugar until smooth; stir in 3/4 cup water. Mix in flour mixture and pecans just until combined. Spoon into pan evenly over apples.

    Bake for 30 minutes or until pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes; invert onto serving plate. Serve warm.
