    List of Ingredients




    3 ripe firm pears, peeled, cut in half lengthwise and cored
    2 Jonathan or Macintosh apples, peeled, cut in half lengthwise and cored
    2 Tbs. lemon juice
    3 cups apple juice
    1-1/3 cups water
    1/3 cup sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
    2/3 cup plain nonfat yogurt
    2 Tbs. honey

    Recipe



    Fill a large bowl with cold water. Add pears, apples and lemon juice. Boil next 5 ingredients in a large heavy saucepan over high heat until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer 5 minutes. Add pears and apples. Cover saucepan and poach fruit 10 minutes or until tender. Do not overcook. Using a slotted spoon, transfer fruit to a serving bowl. Increase heat to medium and simmer liquid 35 minutes or until thickened. Place saucepan in cold water to cool syrup to room temperature. Combine yogurt and honey and mix thoroughly. Serve fruit topped with poaching syrup and yogurt sauce.
