List of Ingredients
2 pounds chicken wings, tips discarded
4 cups safflower oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 cup minced onion
1/2 cup jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
1/4 cup green pepper, minced
2 tablespoons Italian parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon bacon drippings
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons Tabasco sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried sweet basil
Recipe
Saut� garlic, onion, jalapeno, green pepper and parsley in bacon drippings until onion is soft. Add all remaining ingredients except the oil and chicken wings. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Bring oil to 350 degrees and deep fry the wings in small batches for 5 minutes. Drain and place wings in an ovenproof dish. Cover with the sauce and bake for 15 minutes at 350. Serve with blue cheese dressing and plenty of napkins.
