French Toast: Caramel French Toast

List of Ingredients
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup or maple syrup
- 12 slices white or whole wheat bread
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, divided
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Lightly grease a 13x9x2" baking dish; set aside.
- Bring brown sugar, syrup and butter to a boil.
- Remove from heat and pour into baking dish.
- Top with 6 slices of bread and sprinkle with combined sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Top with remaining bread.
- Beat eggs, milk, vanilla and remaining cinnamon and pour over bread.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Remove dish from refrigerator, uncover and bake in preheated oven at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar when serving, if desired.
- Makes 4 to 6 servings
