    Cake: Mexican Sheet Cake

    • 1 cup margarine
    • 1 cup water
    • 4 tablespoons cocoa
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/2 cup buttermilk
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    • Frosting:
    • 1/2 cup margarine
    • 6 tablespoons milk
    • 5 tablespoons cocoa
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 cup chopped nuts
    • 1 (16 ounce) box powdered sugar


    Instructions


    1. Bring margarine, water and cocoa to a boil; combine with sugar and flour and mix. Add eggs one at a time.

    2. Stir baking soda into butter milk and add to mixed ingredients. Stir in vanilla and cinnamon.

    3. Bake 18 minutes at 400 degrees in a 15x10x1" pan. Four minutes after cake is in oven, prepare frosting.

    4. Melt margarine; add milk and cocoa. Pour over powdered sugar. Add vanilla and nuts and mix. Frost while cake is hot.
