    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups brown sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 2 tablespoons corn syrup
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 2/3 cup chopped nuts, optional


    Instructions


    1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, salt, corn syrup, butter and evaporated milk.
    2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the soft ball stage is reached (236 Degrees on a candy thermometer).
    3. Remove from heat and let cool.
    4. Stir in vanilla and nuts, if using.
    5. Beat until thick and creamy.
    6. Turn into buttered pan.
    7. Cool and cut into squares.
