List of Ingredients
- 1 can (13-1/2-oz.) clear chicken broth (or beef)
- 1/4 cup Bisquick
- 1/4 cup evaporated milk
- 1/8 teaspoon powdered thyme
- 1/8 teaspoon poultry seasoning or sage
- 1/8 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine all in a blender; blend on High 1 minute.
- Pour into a saucepan and heat until smooth and thickened. (I add this to the de-fatted skillet or pan I've used for browning chicken for added flavor.)
- Makes 2 cups
Final Comments
Note: For Sausage Gravy: To recipe above, add 1 pound crumbled cooked bulk sausage with 3 tablespoons sausage drippings, 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning, 1 tablespoon minced onion and salt and pepper to taste. Heat gently, but don't boil. Spoon over buttered toast or hot biscuits.
