    List of Ingredients




    1large onion, sliced
    2 tablespoons shortening or oil
    round steak or other cut of beef, cut in small pieces
    flour
    salt and pepper
    1 teaspoon dry mustard
    1 cup bouillon
    extra water, if needed
    2 tablespoons tomato paste
    3 tablespoons sherry wine, or other dry wine
    1 can or 1 cup fresh mushrooms
    1 small carton sour cream
    rice, for serving

    Recipe



    Brown the onion in the oil, and then add the meat which has been dipped in the flour, salt, pepper, and mustard. Brown well. Add the bouillon and extra water, if needed. Simmer about 1 hour. Stir in the tomato paste and wine. Add mushrooms and simmer a few minutes. Stir in the sour cream just before serving and serve over the rice.
