    EASY SPICY BEEF TURNOVERS

    List of Ingredients






    1 package refrigerated pie crusts

    Filling:

    1/2 pound lean ground beef
    1/4 cup chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 teaspoon curry powder
    1 teaspoon fresh ginger, hopped finely, or 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    1/2 teaspoon sugar
    1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    Chutney (optional)

    Heat oven to 375 degrees. Allow both crusts to sit at room
    temperature for 15-20 minutes. In medium skillet, brown beef, onion
    and garlic. Drain. Stir in remaining filling ingredients. Cool.

    Unfold each pie crust; peel off top plastic sheets. Press out fold
    lines. Invert and remove remaining plastic sheets. Cut about four
    circles of about 4 to 5 inches each from each pie crust. Cut each
    circle in half. Place 1 tablespoon filling on each semicircle. Brush
    edges with water. Fold over; seal edges with fork.

    Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 18-23
    minutes or until light golden brown. Cool on wire rack. Serve with
    chutney, if desired.

    Makes 16 turnovers.
