    Creamy Pumpkin Pie

    My Aunt Minne Rush always had the best pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving. Her is her recipe to share. The pie crust recipe is attached.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups or 1 (No.303) can pumpkin, (not pie filling)
    • 2/3 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
    • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
    • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
    • 1 tall can (13 1/2 oz) evaporated milk
    • 1/4 cup heavy cream


    Instructions


    1. Combine the pumpkin, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves and eggs. Mix well
    2. Gradually stir in the evaporated milk and heavy cream.
    3. Stir until well blended. Gently ladle mixture into the chilled pie shell (recipe follows)
    4. Bake in a 450 degree F. oven for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 and bake for 30 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.


    Final Comments


    This is a great pie. Don't forget the whipped cream on the top!
